Silhouette™ Thread Facelift

From the age of 40, the face and cheeks can begin to sag, starting to show the signs of age. The new silhouette threads face lift is a low-impact cosmetic surgery technique that can restore a younger appearance. The treatment is performed in one short session only with local anaesthetic and without hospitalisation with virtually no side effects, and only a few days needed for recovery.

How is it done?
The silhouette face lift is a minimally invasive technique using specialised surgical threads, used to lift up soft, sagging tissues. The threads, made of extra-strong inert polymer, are slipped down from an incision at the temple hairline, and then attached at the jowls and the nasal labial folds. The procedure requires only local anaesthesia, and requires one to two hours, depending on the number of threads used and the areas to be treated.

What happens to the thread?
The threads have excellent longevity, and can stay in soft tissues indefinitely. The anchoring cones are designed to be broken down by the body after a few years, by which time scar tissue fibrotic capsules bind to the threads, and keep them in place.

Are there any side effects?
Bruising and swelling are temporary, usually lasting up to a week. Although infection is very rare, a post-operative prophylactic anti-biotic treatment is prescribed. Numbness in the area sometimes can be felt but settles once the thread is encapsulated in scar tissue.

Where is it used?
This thread lift is used for the face, to treat sagging jaw lines and the naso-labial folds. It is also used for sagging skin on the neck, and as an eyebrows lift.
